SPEECHES

My background in speech writing spans conference opening introductions by CEOs to ministerial speeches addressing captains of industry. My opinion is that informal speeches, such as wedding speeches, should always be authored entirely by the appointed speaker (the groom in this instance) for greatest authenticity. Technical speeches, on the other hand, merit independent research and compilation. The speaker is then able to intersperse the material with their own private insights, in effect giving them moral ownership of the content.
